I've never seen myself as a doll person. I never enjoyed playing with them as a kid, and the closest thing to a doll I owned recently were Hot Toys figures. That's all changed with Mattel's Monster High, and I am now all about them! It all started when my friend Psycho Soldier showed me the Frankie Stein doll she picked up, and I immediately fell in love.
Mattel's Monster High series has some of the most awesome characters I've seen in an original toy line, and most of the students are the children of famous monsters. Frankie happens to be the daughter of Frankenstein and his bride, and things only get more hilarious from there!
I've never been so excited about an original series like this, especially not with dolls. Hit the jump to learn more about my friend Frankie, as well as her fantastically ghoulish friends, with this totally creeptacular Show and Tell!

The Monster High dolls catch an eye when browsing down the toy aisles, but funny enough since I never used to go anywhere near the dolls, I never did see them until they were fabulously brought to my attention by my good friend Psycho Soldier. Once she shared the news, my aversion to dolls changed forever. Well, enough about that — check out the box!

I just love the character design as a whole, not only for Frankie, but also for her dog Watzit. In addition to a fun and flirty character design, she also has an amazingly funny biography on the back of the box. It starts off about how she's 15 ... days old that is, because she was created by her parents, and tends to have stray body parts on occasion when she happens to pop a stitch.

Frankie comes with several accessories, including her dog Watzit, a purse, a hairbrush, her journal, instructions and a stand. Thank the Toy Gods for stands. I love them and wish they came with practically everything. It's hard to see in the photo, but her stand is emblazoned with the Monster High logo and artwork.

Watzit is one of my favorite parts — I just can't get enough of his adorable little self, and his super cute wings. Frankie took him out for a walk with us when we went out to do our photoshoot, and surprisingly, he's a very well behaved little dog. He and Frankie match quite well, since he was an experiment himself and is a mix between several different types of pets and has a license that's ten pages long!

Frankie is a pretty sassy girl and I just love her facial expression. She can go shopping with the best of them, and looks to be ready to go with her purse in hand. She stands around 10.5" tall, so she towers over half the toys I own, but she loves to model. She's quite the fashionista and would be an awesome friend if she were real. Since she's not, she goes to the mall with her best friends Draculaura and Clawdeen.

I love her outfit and totally wish I could pull it off myself. Hell, I'd even draw on some stitches here and there to play the part! Maybe there's Frankie Stein cosplay in the future; who knows? Her outfit itself looks cute, and the added belt and chain add just that more to the awesome factor. She even has earrings, so she's decked out to the nines and ready to have some fun.

As the haze set in during the night, she was as radiant as ever. Her moisturizer she was using must have paid off because her skin seemed to glow. It definitely wasn't because it was humid outside or anything ... no, definitely not. In fact, you probably shouldn't even mention that to her or else you might end up slapped upside your head.

When Frankie's on a mission, you just can't stop her. Needless to say, she's only 15 days old, and with her lacking sense of direction, she ended up stumbling into the red light district. I found it better not to try and explain to her what exactly that means, but I got her rushed out of there in a hurry and off to somewhere more safe.

We instead went and hung out with the lawn bunnies, which was a much safer, and much cuter, experience than the previous one. Frankie made some new friends and we had a cute photo-op all in one. I mean, who doesn't like bunnies no matter if you're living or dead, right?

As you can see, I'm all about these Monster High dolls and I can't wait to get my hands on more, especially with seeing some of the new ones from SDCC. They have fantastic joints and are way more entertaining than Barbie dolls, so this might be the first step into getting me to like ball jointed dolls one day. You can get your very own Monster High dolls in several places, but your best bet is probably Walmart or Toys 'R' Us. They'll only cost you between US$16 to $20, which is a small price to pay for an awesome Monster High student to have for your very own. I'll probably end up with a whole class full of dolls by the time I'm through!
