Show and tell: Dokodemo Issho Revoltechs from Kaiyodo photo

For those of you unfamiliar with Dokodemo Issho, Mainichi Issho, or Sony's mascot cat, Toro, allow me to clue you in to one of the greatest things ever created. Ever. If you're an import gamer, you most likely remember Sony's PocketStation; a nifty little device that not only served as a PS1 memory card, but also carried some light PDA-like capabilities. If that sounds like the Dreamcast's VMU, you've got the right idea, as the PocketStation also of course played games.

One of those games was Dokodemo Issho, and its main character was a little white cat by the name of Toro. Dokodemo Issho, (which translates to "Everywhere Together"), would later see a release on the PSP, and before long, Toro had become the official mascot for Sony in Japan. His latest outing is a downloadable PS3 title called Mainichi Issho, or Every Day Together. I won't get too far into that here, because this isn't our gaming site, but let me just say that Mainichi Issho is hands down my favorite thing about the PS3, even if I can only read half of what's being said. Not exactly most people's idea of a killer app, but it's well worth creating a Japanese PSN account for, and often the only reason my PS3 stays plugged in.

Anyway, you came to see toys, right? Hit the jump.

Today I'd like to show you some of my favorite Revoltech figures: Toro, Kuro, and Jun. These guys are pretty readily available wherever you'd normally find a decent selection of Revoltechs, with the exception of this particular Kuro, who is a limited edition given to me by my girlfriend/gift ninja, Stella. The standard Kuro is still out there, however, and you shouldn't have any trouble snatching one up to add to your own stash.

Toro and Kuro, relaxing after a hard day of creating PSN content. How about some karaoke?

Futarini gaaaawd buresss ...

Hello, what's this?

LOL j/k.

One of the coolest things about Jun is that he comes with a ton of accessories, including a sushi set.

The detail on these tiny pieces is pretty outstanding, especially considering that Jun is a $25 Revoltech figure. The skin on the salmon Toro is about to enjoy below looks irridescent and lifelike, and the kanji print on the green tea cup you see Jun holding is amazing.

While the attention to detail is great, these are Revoltechs after all, and every bit as poseable as the rest of the series. This allows Toro and his friends to do all the things cats and bunnies would normally do.

You know, like breakdancing.

Do you want karate?

Each figure also comes packed with a lovely base, sporting the Dokodemo Issho logo and a connected Revoltech joint for easy posing. Aside from the LE Kuro, these guys aren't hard to find, and make an excellent addition to any Revoltech collection. With so many robots and mechs in the line, it never hurts to throw some cute into the mix.
