Shining Blade's Sakuya sets your desires ablaze

3:00 PM on 09.27.2012 // Emily Smalara

When I think of Shining series figures, I don't usually think of dramatic, battle-ready characters. The designs usually fit the soft art style of Tony Taka, and even the more dynamic characters usually have a bit of elegance and serenity to their poses. Kotobukiya is tossing that all out the window, though, with their upcoming "Guren no Enbu Sakuya -Mode: Crimson" figure, set to heat up the Winter this February.

This hottie--pun intended, for once--stokes the flames in all the right places. What really catches my eye is the way the flames lick up from the base, leading up along those fancy thigh-highs. Her sword is fantastic as well, looking like it got pulled straight out of the latest flashy MMO. The color scheme in general pulls it all together, with that nice rich crimson standing out amongst Shining's usual pastels and lighter hues.

All in all, I'm pretty impressed with this figure! It's a break from the Shining norm and looks great in its own rights as well. Sadly, she'll burn your cash to ashes, with a hefty tag of ¥12,000 upon her arrival.
