Seasonal Pokemon Center merchandise is spooky, jolly

It's almost the end of summer and you know what the means: holiday merchandise! The Pokémon Centers in Japan are really going all out this year with their Halloween and Christmas items. There's plenty of goods to stuff into a pillow case or under the Christmas tree, provided you are lucky enough to get your hands on 'em. The plushes are available for sale only in Japan and range in price from ¥210 to ¥1480. The Halloween set is available for purchase now and the Christmas one goes on sale on Oct. 29.

The Christmas items are traditional fare, with little plush pokémon riding on train cars whilst holding gifts. It's cute and all but the only really winter-y pokémon included in the set is Cubchoo, the chilly little polar bear pokémon. The others are just cute, everyday monsters: Pikachu, Oshawott and Audino.

The Halloween items are definitely better themed in terms of which pokémon were included in the set. It features Pikachu (which I think is now a requirement) as well as Litwick, Woobat and Joltik. Electric mouse aside, all are perfect for a spooky holiday celebration.
