SDCC 2013: Mark Nagata/Javier Jimenez signing at Rotofugi

Not just sketches, but a sneak peek, too

Thursday marks the traditional beginning of the signing sessions at San Diego Comic Con, and one of the first over in the designer toy corner of the show floor was Rotofugi's signing with Mark Nagata and Javier Jimenez. The two collaborated on the Eyezon Gangsta figure (more on that coming in the Rotofugi booth post) and both had something new on display during the signing session.

In Javier's case, that was the original colorway for his Don Antler resin figure, which is set to come out sometime after San Diego Comic Con. As he was on display next to Javier, I got a chance to get some nice shots of the detailing on the tattoos and sculptwork. It's a smooth-looking figure, from the rounded antlers to the glossy paint finish, though you could also interpret it as "smooth" in more than the literal sense.

In addition to Don Antler, Mark had brought with him the next colorway for the Kaiju Negora figure. It's a yellow, tiger-striped colorway with some red and blue sprays along the spine, one that almost instantly makes me think of either the Hanshin Tigers' colors or Lum. It's otherwise no different than the other Kaiju Negora colorways, but the colors mesh together well.
