SDCC 2012: Gargamel/Grasshut Corp.Grasshut Corp. and Gargamel shared a booth at SDCC this year, and if you were a fan of sofubi, it was definitely a place to be. Gargamel brought a few exclusives, like F.U. Robot (seen above) and Hedoran 2, along with past releases and other sofubi creations. Megalith and Mega Junktion are the two large mechs that perhaps will catch your eye if you like your plastic with a tokusatsu look. Bwana Spoons and Grasshut Corp. also had some work to show off, which included a few Randalls and some Le-Miniverse figures from Le Merde. But returning to SDCC after a few years away was Justin "Scrappers" Morrison, and the stuff he brought was amazing. Not only did we get to see his surfing dragon Hobart as a show exclusive, but he brought Owl Kahanamoku and El Capitan with him as well. The characters are all based off a book about Owl and his dreams of surfing, written by Justin for his 5-year-old son. and I think his pieces really fit in well with the sofubi/indie toy style. I really hope he'll be releasing more of them in the future, too! Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
