SDCC 2012: Designer Toy Awards finalists announced
Earlier this week, the finalists for the 2012 Designer Toy Awards were announced in all categories that were open to nominations. That means every category except the Lifetime Achievement Award, and like any list, there's sure to be some debate over who got in and who did not. The biggest news? Tomopop is one of 10 finalists in the Best Blog category, alongside The Blot Says, Circus Posterus Blog, Jeremyriad, Kaiju Korner, SpankyStokes, KFHC, toysrevil, Trampt and Vinyl Pulse! We'd like to say thanks to anyone and everyone who nominated us during the open nominations period, and we're excited to be a finalist this year! The biggest non-nominee surprise? That the MC/host for the awards at New York Comic Con is New York's one and only Sucklord, master of the bootleg and Toy Lord of Chinatown. Personally, I think it's actually a great idea, considering that Sucklord is definitely a dude with a unique personality. The party where the winners will be announced takes place October 13, with other details yet to be announced.
