SDCC 2011: Of rayguns and rings at Weta

The folks from Weta came all the way from New Zealand for Comic Con, and with them came a few Lord of the Rings pieces. Both Gollum and the forthcoming Gandalf the Grey were behind the glass at the Weta booth, along with three huge collectibles of Bag's End, Rivendell and pre-ruined Orthanc. It's like someone took a chunk of Middle Earth and plopped it in your living room.

A variety of rayguns from the collection of Dr. Grordbort's laboratory were also shown off at the booth, featuring among others, the Righteous Bison, which is now a part of the Team Fortress 2 universe as of that game's latest update. Seeing some of these rayguns upclose made me realize the intricate level of detail that Weta has really put into these pieces.
