SDCC 2010: Weta Workshop's District 9 Figures photoDistrict 9 might have been my favorite movie of 2009, but for some odd reason there is not much merchandise from it. Films like Avatar get figures out the wazoo, but District 9 seemed left out of the crazy movie merchandising that has been going on recently. Thankfully Weta Workshop has set out to fix this dilemma with some awesome figures! They had a statue of Christopher Johnson and his son on display, as well as a replica of the Arc Reactor and a figure of the giant mech. I would kill for pretty much any of these figures, as they all look amazing! They also had a huge (bigger than life-sized) figure of the baby Prawn on top of the display case! Um..... hey Weta, where can I buy one of those?

MOAR Weta:

Legacy Comments

Urk, looks expensive. Good idea of them to just do aliens and robots and avoid the danger of any human figures plummeting into the uncanny valley.
