SDCC 2010: Good Smile Company shows off figures of..... Yu-Gi-Oh monsters? photoWhen I first caught sight of these figures at AAA Anime's booth, I thought they were from Monster Hunter. Upon closer inspection, I realized that they looked familiar. Kind of like.... Blue Eyes White Dragon. And Red Eyes Black Dragon. IN AMERICA. And you know what? They totally are. And they are also produced by Good Smile Company, which makes them super special awesome. They are also HUGE, with the two figures taking up an entire case. They seem to be made out of polystone or resin, and based on their size they are probably going to cost an arm or a leg. But for huge figures of holographic monsters from the greatest show about children's card games, any price is worth it.

uhhh good show GSC?
BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON!!!
Dude...I will totally get these if they ever release them!
Oh god what. This is both awesome and out-of-left-field.
Fucking A! This is absurdly cool, random news. Not terribly excited by either sculpt or the fact that they just went with two monsters (plus you'd think they'd do Dark Magician over the rarely seen REBD; or, perhaps, ANY monster that didn't suck in the actual game) but I guess it keeps the door open for other releases down the way.
I've always wanted to play Yu-Gi-Oh. I got into collectible card games because of Yu-Gi-Oh, specifically Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series.

But the people I work with would only play Magic, which is a lot of fun, I must admit.

That Blue Eyes White Dragon sure is cool though.
Holy shit this is awesome.

Still better off than me. I haven't had a card-playing group of any kind in years. I got into MtG via the mythology aspect (specifically the use of minotaurs and hydras) and then just kinda fell into every other CCG since.

Just a heads up, these are 70,000 yen each according to last month's Hobby Japan.

For real? >_< That's four flavors of crazy.
