Ryotsu Kankichi stars in a manga with one of the longest titles you'll find: Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kôen Mae Hashutsujo or This is the police station in front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward or just Kochikame for short. Only thing longer than it's name is it's reign as the longest running manga in history with over 1,700 chapters to its credit or over 180 volumes going back to 1976 within the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump! I remember well my first introduction to Kankichi, it was in the pages of Toy Fare magazine where they put the spotlight on one of Bandai's 1/6th scale "Action Doll" releases of Kankichi from 1997. That figure came with a tiny pink Tamagotchi, this figure comes with half a toy box!

Bandai's latest entry in the S.H.Figuarts line is everything you'd want in a Ryotsu Kankichi figure and then some! Not only do you get several different facial expressions and plenty of hand options, but Kankichi also has his revolver, a newspaper, a copy of Weekly Shonen Jump, an action figure of himself, a mini version of the Ryotsu Kankichi GD-02 Chogokin from 1996, and a toy tank with remote. No Tamagotchi or cell phones this time, but I think the new version got the better end of the toy store!
