It's been over four years since Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann first aired. After Kaiyodo's Revoltech and Bandai's Composite Ver. Ka figure, did you think we've seen the end of Gurren Lagann toys? If you did, you must've forgotten about Andres' preview, because Sen-ti-nel is here to slap you upside the head with this mind-bogglingly awesome action figure from their Riobot line, featuring a very detailed re-imagination of the drill-wielding bruiser.
In addition to the plethora of mechanical details incorporated into the design, the Riobot Gurren Lagann comes with its wrist drills, long arm drill, flight pack, detachable shades, display base, and an alternate head. However, the real kicker for me are the gimmicks in this figure. When you rotate Gurren Lagann's head, the eyes on its chest follow. Similarly, when you bend Gurren Lagann's legs, the armor plates on its thighs shift accordingly!
All these nifty inclusions and features come at a hefty price tag of 9,048 yen. Due for release April 2012, Is the Riobot Gurren Lagann piercing through your wallet any time soon?
