Revoltech's new Gurren Lagann figure radiates awesomeness photoFew anime have been hotter this past year than Gurren Lagann, the action-adventure/comedy/mecha series that has built up a strong fanbase on both sides of the Pacific. Personally, I like the series, as it reaffirms my belief that the folks at Gainax are completely insane... but in a good way.

Of course, what's a popular anime without many opportunities to cash in upon it, and so far, most of that has been in the form of various products featuring the sniper-rifle wielding Yoko. That's not the case this time, as the 50th entry in the Revoltech line is none other than Gurren-Lagann itself. The gigantic mech is set to follow the other entries in the Revoltech line: cast from PVC, the 120mm figure will be fully poseable with plenty of interchangeable parts, all at a fair price. In this case, Gurren-Lagaan comes with two heads, four hands and its trademark boomerang and drill.

The figure comes out in mid-May 2008, currently priced at 1,900 yen (about $19 US). Hobby Search will knock off almost 100 yen if you pre-order it now, minus shipping costs, and will ship it to anywhere except the Philippines, Indonesia and Peru.

Now, if only we could get a model of the Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, life would be grand.

(Thanks, Austen!)
