I played a few games of chess back when I was a youngin' but I always felt there was something missing from the game. Ah, yes. The ability to summon Persona and smash your opponent's pieces to smithereens! Well, that's not quite what you'll get out of MegaHouse's Persona 4 the Animation Chess Piece Collection R but at least your board will have some style to it.
The 90-mm tall, six piece collection features most of the cast in a fixed pose with card in hand and Persona by their side. Teddy is your pawn, Naoto as your knight, Yosuke as the bishop, Chie the rook, Yukiko your queen, and of course, Yu as the king. As you can see, Kanji and Rise didn't make the cut in the collection. Though they are said to be chess pieces, they of course can act as standalone figures to display which is what most will buy these for.
The set of six pieces is retailing for ¥5,700 and will be available in January, 2013. Though called chess pieces and not an actual full set, is there anyone that has humored themselves in playing a game of chess with MegaHouse's Chess Piece Collection series?
