Quantum Mechanix picks up the complete Star Trek license! photo

Quantum Mechanix (QMx) has announced that they've acquired the rights to produce collectibles from all Star Trek movies and TV properties. They have Star Trek on offer already, but this new license gives them the whole hog - anything and everything they want to make is a possibility.

Their press release outlines their plans for Trek merch: ship replicas, maquettes, prop replicas, plushes, and all sorts of trinkets will be in the works. This is great news if, say, you can't afford their Enterprise-D studio model as there will no doubt be cheaper collectibles available. Already in the works are a communicator badge, an Enterprise key chain, and a series of character maquettes in the spirit of the Firefly Little Damn Heroes line.

So what kind of Star Trek collectibles would you like to see? I'm a fan of ship models so obviously I'd want lots of those - maybe not the thousand dollar artisan models but something smaller to sit on my shelf. If we're thinking outside the box, I'd like a replica of Jonathan Frakes's beard because I'm positive that will help me get women.
