Product previews from the Bandai Collectors Division photo

This past Monday at the Bandai Headquarters was held a special event from the Bandai Collectors Division to display new and upcoming products.

With the new Gundam Unicorn anime on the horizon, figures from this series took center stage with new releases from the Fix Figuration and SIDE MS lines. The Macross series was represented by its assortment of Valkyries with new ones being announced for the upcoming Macross Frontier movie. Being the Macross 7 whore, I'm surprise I still don't own a version of Basara's VF-19.

The much welcomed shorter iteration of Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Kai featured several figures from the current running Freezer arc including all of Freezer's forms. More mainstay series including Kamen Rider and Saint Saiya were on hand featuring plenty of manliness. I'm really excited about the greatest figure ever, Bonta-kun from Full Metal Panic now that I see it comes with a Sousuke head.

Hit the gallery for a sample of the event and head on over to the AmiAmi Blog if you thirst for more. Expect more details to emerge when individual news on each product is released.

MOAR robots!:

Legacy Comments

I just pre-ordered that Swordfish II from Cowboy bebop @ Amiami. They still have it at a massive 26% off!

Will go nicely next to my blue diecast Chogokin Tachikoma...hmm, their really needs to be more cowbody bebop figures
That Gundam bust looks pretty badass too. Just too bad I haven't seen a single Gundam episode yet despite being an anime fan *bows head in shame*

Anyone got any suggestions on where to start?
Yeah, I saw that Nu Gundam bust on Ngee Khiong's site a couple days ago. Looks pretty cool, but does anyone know what scale it is?
ShadowMountain, I'd tell you to start at the beginning, but most people would groan and say Seed or 00. (I HATE Seed) The first series is pretty boring up until the last few episodes.

As for myself, I FUCKING LOVE ZETA GUNDAM. But you either need to see the first series or read the spoilers for it to fully understand it.

Anyway, Do want the Nu Gundam bust, all of the Kamen Rider figures, & the Unicorn Robot Damashii.
@momohanabi: I didn't think SEED was that great either. I didn't hate it, but it could have been better. Now Destiny was terrible. If you want to watch Destiny, just watch the last two episodes for the fights. I did love 00, so I could suggest starting there since it's easier to get into than the earlier series.

I actually disagree with you about the original Gundam. I thought it was pretty good until the last couple episodes where you could feel that they were rushing to tie up the plot.

And I'm actually in the middle of Zeta Gundam, which is very good so far.

Oh, and as long as you don't take it seriously and watch it like you would DBZ, G Gundam is pretty entertaining.

And Wing is just kind of on it's own. It's okay, but mostly forgettable.
BEST FIGURE EVER I MUST HAVE

Don't get me wrong, I adore 0079. I'm just looking from someone's POV that might want something more on par with today's series, something with tons of action. Regardless, it's an amazing series.

BEST FIGURE EVER I MUST HAVE

I approve this statement. I must have it, but I must restrain myself. I'm way in deep!
Does anybody know if these are articulated figures (action figures) or are these model kits? I'm dying for a VF25 but I don't know how to build model kits. I have my hopes up for the ability to transform, but these look for sort complex even for action figure standards.
Aaaaagh!! I want that Bontacoon figure!!!!
i´m not a big seiya fan but damn!! that odin seiya looks awesome!
