Excellent in name, at least. Part of the Excellent Model series, Megahouse is bringing us two of the lovely ladies of mecha anime Aquarion Evol, Zessica and MIX. While I have yet to partake in this followup to Aquarion, I quite enjoyed the original through all its...uniqueness. The sequel seems to be just as out there, and so too are the character names and designs alike.

I have to say between the pair, I much prefer Zessica. Fortunately her appearance is not quite as strange as her name, providing a fairly attractive character in what looks like a standard exercise getup, at least if you combined a sports bra with a typical bunny costume top. Still, she definitely looks like the better of the two, even if she does look to have potential for a bit of leaning.

When it comes to MIX though, I'm not so sure I'm a fan. Besides her ecchi-worthy proportions, her outfit is just a bit too busy for my tastes, with no real direction or unifying features. I've never been a meganekko fan either, leading to another strike against Zessica's companion. Whether you're attracted to one or both, the pair shows up together in January. Zessica's skimpiness leads to a retail price around ¥6,300, while MIX'x comparative modesty will set you back about ¥7,000 instead.
