Fans of Bodacious Space Pirates or space ships in general should check out Hasegawa's latest model kit of the Bentenmaru Space Pirate ship captained by the main character, Kato Marika. It's made to 1/1300-scale, making it about 171 mm long and 86 mm wide. Its height is not listed but I would guess it's around 100 mm tall, depending if you attach the antenna to the bottom or not.

I'm happy that Hasegawa is making a model of this fine ship. It's not too often that space ships are made into snap kits. Most of the time, models of mechs are the ones made. The kit is snap-together, so the assembly should be fairly easy. However, in order to make the Bentenmaru look like a proper, pirate ship, a lot of painting and weathering work would be necessary.

Hasegawa's Bentenmaru's suggested retail price is around ¥2800, and is expected to ship out in November of this year.
