Custom Delights: Phu X Yoka = Avatar 7

4:00 PM on 07.08.2008 // Qais Fulton

The works of Phu! have graced the pages of Tomopop many a time, and as well they should. Each and every piece produced is a psuedo-futurist's delight. This time around a YOKA Panda from Adfunture went under the knife and brush, resulting in the Avatar 7 for Cardboard Spaceship's upcoming 'Beasts of Burden' show at Subtext in San Diego.

As Colette has previously noted, one of the best things about the works of Phu! is that you can't really tell what piece was used as a base to build up the deconstucted beauty before your eyes. In addition to the YOKA Panda base, Phu! employed cardboard, cable ties, hose clamps, wire, bottle caps, and plastic hose. Not exactly a tackle box full of expensive, confusing art supplies. It just goes to show what can be done with a little bit of random supplies and a whole lot of creativity.
