Custom Delights: Phu!'s Soopa Nova

10:15 AM on 05.06.2008 // Brian Szabelski

A while back, I posted on a custom Soopa featuring the cast and crew of Homestar Runner, which was to that point the best custom Soopa I’d ever seem. Well, that Homestar Runner Soopa/Munny Combo has tough competition in the form of vinyl artist Phu!’s Soopa Nova.

The 7” long custom vinyl toy uses paint, brass rivets, broken toy parts, cable ties, half of the acrylic sphere from a gashapon casing, plastic hoses, rivets and wire to create something that looks like it fell out of a 1980s arcade game. The item was made as a commission for a private collector, so sadly, they’re not being mass-produced. Sorry, Topher.

Check out more of Phu!’s work over at his blog, Vinyl Is The New Canvas.
