Play Arts Kai Bayonetta color preview shots could kill on sight photo

I was really excited to see the prototypes of the Play Arts Kai Bayonetta figures at Jump Fiesta. As good as Square-Enix has been with their game-based Play Arts line, there was still some doubt on whether the hype could be lived up to. After looking at the preview shots that came up today, I no longer have any doubts.

It looks like a lot of the questions that people had raised have been answered. The paint job looks to have been cleaned up considerably well. Probably the best improvement is that Bayonetta's head is now somewhat in scale with her body. Jeanne is no slouch either and looks equally as amazing. These also look to be the most poseable Play Arts figures to date.

With both Play Arts Kai Bayonetta and Jeane being released this May, preorders have already opened up at Hobby Search. Amiami has also just opened up preorders for Bayonetta and Jeanne, with 20% off the MSRP of 4500 yen. Be sure to check out the gallery below!

MOAR Square-Enix:

Legacy Comments

The one thing I don't like is that you can't really get a good look at the figures because of the lighting of black/red. That's what is keeping me from preordering right away.
Ack! They're still using those hideous knee joints from the FFXIII figures?!
Honestly, given how horrible the FMA and FFXIII Play Arts Kais were, I'm gonna wait 'til these ones are actually released before I even consider buying them.
i think they look like crap
It's a pity Square Enix has to continue making such horrible Play Arts figures. D: Especially with the Final Fantasy series, such a waste of good character designs. Would be better if they did scaled figures with a good company like Alter or GSC. D:
These look like crap if you ask me.

However Bayonetta is BEGGING to have a good scale figure done that gets all the little detail of her outfit in. Having played the game(Way to much by the way I have beaten it around 3-4 times) I can tell they put ALOT of work into Bayonetta's look and outfit and a crappy little figure like this one would never be able to show all that off.

What they need is either a good 1/6 or 1/4 scale to show her off. There is enough detail in her outfit to make a STUNNING 1/4 scale if you ask me.

It's coming. Don't worry. I think I remember at least 2 companies are revving up for a fixed pose figure for the witch, might find a few WF garage kits for her as well (well, I can dream can't i?)
There should be a term for those kinda weird ass joints, Crab leg joints :P
* talking about the leg part of course.
