Pay respects to the Finger Mafia with a new KickstarterThere's a new designer toy Kickstarter out there from B|Sides Toys and Brooklyn-based artist Spektor for a new 5-inch toy line, Finger Mafia. Originally inspired by the yakuza tradition of yubitsume, each little finger is based off a stereotypical caricature of the mafia in one of four countries: Japan, Italy, Russia and the U.S. Each is planned to come with accessories as part of a limited-edition line, and in the future, more designs and customization options might be available. One of the things I like, though, are some of the details, like how the mouths are actually just fingerprints instead! All the art's done and production is almost ready to go; in fact, you can find shots of the prototypes in the gallery. They're just looking for funds to make the final production happen. The Finger Mafia project's goal is slated at US$20,705, and they have US$4,531 with 41 backers and 45 days to go. If you're interested in donating, then head on over to the Kickstarter page to get the full details and see all the reward levels. They range from a thanks and stickers a hand-painted design being applied to a custom Finger Mafia figure and a very-limited set of shiny black Finger Mafia figures. Did you know?
