One lucky soul is now the owner of the glorious paper mache of the trophy of Maleficent's dragon form head. The commission was completed by Dan the Monster-man of the Paper Mache Blog. I can't begin to tell you all how amazing this is. I don't have to because you can see it. It amazes me what people can do, and to see this done with paper mache is just amazing.

What's really amazing is how all of this was done. As you can tell, the piece is adorned with LEDs to capture the feat that just exudes from Maleficent. The eyes were actually crafted from what is used to create an elephant's eyes by a taxidermist. It's scary that this is paper mache. The best I could do was a misshaped Minnesota Vikings helmet in 6th grade. I didn't even think this kind of stuff was possible.

There is in no way that I can ever hope of seeing this topped. Outside of a full body Maleficent in her dragon form, I just can't see this ever being outdone. I'm just really sad that I can't have this in my home. The only person more disappointed is my wife though I'm sure the 8 month old will be glad that this beast won't scare him at night. You can check out the progress of the work on his blog not to mention the finished product in the gallery below.
