Otakon 2011: Tomopop Meetup and all other cool things photo

This weekend, we'll all be busy enjoying SDCC, whether we're attending or not. Once all the SDCC bustling and hustling has passed though, it'll be time for Otakon! I wanted to get this quick post up before things got too busy to ask: who is going to be at Otakon this year?

For those of you Tomofolk who are attending, we should all hang out. On Saturday, Pedro and I will be at the convention, walking around, taking video, taking pictures, having a ball. Around 4:30 p.m. I think will be a good time for the meet-up (location undecided), and I've invited Japanator folk to join up as well! The reason it's going to be a bit early is cause I'll be going to see Distant Worlds that evening, too. Anyone else going to see that? We can ... bus ... pool? Train pool? And enjoy some music together.

So, go ahead and hit up the comments if you'll be attending Otakon! I hope to run in to all of ya that attend, and give away a few prizes while I'm at it. There'll also be a collectible figures panel (hosted by one of your fellow community members) that weekend, and we'll keep you updated on when and where it'll be once we see a schedule. If you're not attending, it's cool, too. You'll still get to join in the fun by following along the coverage right here on Tomopop!

MOAR Otakon:

Legacy Comments

Not going to Otakon, but just had to comment on how adorably awesome that header image is. Can't believe I missed that original post.
Going to SDCC but not Otakon :( Hope ya'll have fun!
Hopefully this year I'll get to hit the panel. Silly friends having to leave early last year messed things up.
this may be my only my 3rd post here, but i'll be at otakon. I got to go to the panel last year too, which was pretty awesome.
I will be attending. There will be at least three other people with me.

From my understanding there is a highly visible Starbucks in the convention center near registration that may make for a good meeting point.
I will be in the Artist Alley! Please come see my booth, "Aisha Voya Dolls". I will be previewing my own line of BJDs, all sculpted, painted and cast by me. My site is aishavoya.com if you want a sneak peak. :D
@Counterpunch - that's not a bad idea. I should make a sign with the Tomopup on it or something, so y'all can see where we're at.

@Renzi - I'll definitely go by and check out your dolls, Renzi! Stand by for an e-mail from me or Pedro soon!

Can't wait to meet you all. :)
I will be there!! I'm going with some of my friends from the forum I'm admin on; so I'll be all around the con all of the days. Plus at least one of the days I will be cosplaying as America from APH!

If we can set up some kind of meeting point/time; I'd be glad to meet up! ^^

I will definitely make my way over at some point in the weekend. :)
I'll definitely be there friday and saturday. Looking forward to it - last year was really fun :)
I was there at the panel last year, good times. I actually won something in that little give-away you guys had at the panel too. Is Distant Worlds actually doing a show? I thought Uematsu was just doing a signing.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will be performing Distant Worlds and Uematsu will be in attendance on Saturday, July 30 in the evening. I got my tickets last week. :)
