Official Transformers Club subscription service startsIt was only a week ago that we talked about the official G.I.Joe subscription service accepting orders, now Fun Publications has started taking orders for the Transformers Club Subscription. Both services are using similar subscription models and time-frames with a few changes for the Transformers version. Where the Joe sub is 12 figures with a 13th free figure, the Transformers sub is 6 figures with one being a larger scale than the rest. In the end they're fairly even in respect of value. The price is a little bit lower on the Transformers side at a lump sum of $282 or three installments of $94 plus shipping. The price works out to around $47 each give or take which is pretty much on par with what the single club exclusives go for. But it's the selection that's really dividing fans. The Joe sub was great because all of the figures blended in well, even the ones from different series or even different franchises could still intermingle without looking out of place. On the Transformers sub side that's not the case, they chose to do a variety of figures from different series that carry their own aesthetic and don't necessarily blend together well.
Not all fans collect all series which makes it hard to justify subscribing just for a few figures out of the six. I know there's three figures I'd like, but I can't see myself subscribing just for those few. Thankfully there aren't a lot of must have figures in this set so it's not a major loss (though I really want that Scourge). If this is something you want to be part of you have until September 10 at midnight to get your order in. These are being made-to-order and there's no limit so you don't have to rush out to place an order. Just remember that once these are gone you'll never see these figures in this form again. See the gallery to get a good look at all of the figures included in the subscription. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
