Marvel. DC. Bishoujo. Star Wars. More.
Last night, Kotobukiya held its annual panel at NYCC to discuss what's next for the company in 2014. The company had a few surprises for its main franchises, including Marvel and DC Comics, Star Wars, and of course the Bishoujo line. The company also has some brand new properties that will definitely surprise you.

The big announcement from their Star Wars presentation was the addition of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, to the lineup of ARTFX statues. Starting first with Han Solo and Chewbacca, the line will then go to Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. The sculpt for Han was shown in the slide along with the rest as sketches.
No specifics were given as to what is being made, just know that Kotobukiya has several things in mind for the 20th anniversary of Tekken.
For Street Fighter, the next Bishoujo was announced as Juri. As for plans beyond Juri, they have yet to decide whom would be next in the selection process.
Kotobukiya has reacquired the Halo license. Expect figures to be made in the ARTFX line.
There was a lot of news coming out of the Marvel division. Wolverine will return to brown in a Fine Art Statue depicting the Danger Room Sessions. Joining Logan in the Fine Art line is The Juggernaut as well as the previously-announced Psylocke.
The Marvel Now project will continue on with The Avengers. The ARTFX+ line of 1/10 scale figures will continue throughout 2014. Prototypes for The Hulk and Black Widow have been on display already, but the show includes a look at the prototypes for Thor, Hawkeye, and Captain America. Iron Man is in the process of being sculpted and having its prototype prepared.
The Bishoujo of Spider-Woman will be receiving some changes. As you see above, the base that is present will be removed. In its place will be a base featuring webbing. It is currently a work in progress, so expect updated images within a few months. In addition, it was announced that Spider-Woman will have two faceplates, both masked and unmasked.
Couple of notes here on some changes to figures. Supergirl's rendition is in the process of having the stomach area adjusted, so expect an update once those changes have been finalized.
As you can see above, New 52 Batgirl will be getting an ARTFX+ release.
No surprise here, but work is underway on creating goods from Batman Arkham Origins.
Some of you have inquired and here she is. Black Canary's sculpt has been made available, but not on hand at the show. As a feature of the figure we can confirm, she will be given actual fishnets for the final product.
A very big surprise was seeing the turnaround for the sculpt of Bishoujo Starfire. Yes, as you can see in the above image, the rock is there to party.
Kotobukiya closed out the show with a tease for the end of the month. As they instruct you to visit their Facebook page on Halloween, you might image it has deal with something horror. As the faint image of a goalie mask and claws would lead you to believe, something Freddy and Jason may just be coming from Kotobukiya in 2014.
