NYCC 09: Who's watching the Watchmen? DC Direct, that's who photo

If you haven't read it yet, you need to run out right now and go buy The Watchmen book. It is one of the greatest comics ever made, and needs to be read ASAP. I'll wait.

You back now? Good. DC Direct is sending into the wild some awesome 12 inch figures based on the characters from the upcoming movie based on the Watchmen license. The characters on display included Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, and my personal favorite, The Comedian. Also on display was some replicas of some of the character's weapons in the film, including a mask of Rorschach's face and hookshot, and The Comedian's guns and dogtags.

No price is set for these that I've seen, but you should be prepared to spend some heavy green to get yourself some of these. The release of the figures and replicas should coincide with the release of the movie, so look to get yourself prepared sometime in late February to early March. Hit the gallery to view more.

Legacy Comments

These do have srps already. In fact, Dr. Manhattan has already been on the shelves for about a month now. 1/6 Manhattan is $99.99 (out now), 1/6 Comedian is $125 (released Feb 11), 1/6 Rorschach is $99.99 (released March 11), gun/dogtag prop is $295 (released March 5), Rorschach gun and mask is $295 (released Feb 18), and the Owl Ship replica is $325 (released July 29). Porcelin mini-busts of Rorschach and Ozymandias are out now, along with the 7" action figures of Rorschach, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre and Manhattan. Another wave of action figures are supposed to come out this coming Wednesday.
God damn, I wish I had money...
So, I looked at the 1/6 Comedian (out today) and the headsculpt looks awful compared to the packaging and pre-release photos. What happened? This could have been an incredible figure, but man oh man, the head is terrible.
