NSFW: Kidrobot Black's Lilitu leaves me breathless photo

I've always been one for minimalist design, which is the reason KidRobot's Black line has been so appealing to me. The simple dark forms often portray more of an art piece then the standard vinyl figure. So of course, when I discovered Tara McPherson, one of my favorite artists, would be having a piece in this line I got incredibly excited.

Well, Miss McPherson's figure was revealed recently, and I for one was blown away by it. While the expression and pose come off as quite unnerving, the sculpt of the body is just beautifully done. It's a piece I'd love to put on my self, but alas it was not meant to be.

For you see, Lilitu here is retailing for US$250 over at Kidrobot's special shop dedicated to the Black line. While she is 8 inches tall, she is also made of vinyl. If this had been resin, I'd probably drop the cash immediately, but I cannot bring myself to shell out that kind of money for just vinyl.

If you'd like to see more of Lilitu, check out the shop link above. She is, however, a NSFW figure, so tread at your own risk. Any Tomopoppers thinking of dropping the cash for this beauty?

I love love love McPherson's work! It's really interesting to see one of her usually bubblegum coloured designs in stark black like that!

That price though...damn..
Quite nice, but definitely not worth the price tag especailly when it is so small.

Funny it is already sold out.
The colour contrast - beautiful. Really not keen on the pile up of negative tropes in the mythological background myself and as she is - flat colour, expression muted by the pitch-black, 'silent' in a way - it sours me on her.

I'm seeing the painting after the fact, but I prefer it there. She's more lively, colours have shade and shimmer.
This is such a huge disappointment for me. I've been looking forward to this release for over a year, and we get... this. There's almost no detail in the body sculpt, the hair is sloppy, and there are seams on her freaking wrists. $250.... for 8" of vinyl.

That is just insane price gouging, as there is no way in hell she cost anywhere near that to produce. The original art and the design for the figure were fantastic, and it ended up being ruined. If it was maybe $75 I'd bite, but I have never paid the price they are asking for anything in my collection that wasn't a custom or a doll.
