New ThreeA Toys, Nendoroid Petits coming for ... Linkin Park? photo

Sometimes in the figure world, there are some pretty strange or unexpected bedfellows. I would have to say Linkin Park and Good Smile Co. would be among the most unexpected I've seen to date. The band and the figure company are teaming up for an event called A Thousand Horizons next month in Tokyo. The most surprising part of the news, though, is that all six members of the band are being made into a Nendoroid Petit set as part of the event. Unfortunately, beyond that, we don't have any images of the set yet, but it's interesting news, to say the least.

There's also a Linkin Park x ThreeA Toys release, it seems, which makes a little more sense, given their love of mechs and robots. And of course, what would complete the toy madness but a little Be@rbrick? Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't done a Linkin Park Be@rbrick before ...

As for when this is all taking place, it looks like it'll be a one-day event at NicoFarre in Tokyo on Sept. 9, just before Linkin Park kicks off the Japanese leg of their A Thousand Suns Tour. The Nendo and ThreeA figures actually don't have release dates or prices listed yet, but a portion of all the sales of goods from the event are going to Music for Relief to help aid those affected by the Great Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami in March.

Speaking of weird collaborations, what ever became of that Snoop Dogg and Good Smile one from a while back? o__o

Good question! I'll see if I can dig up anything on it.
There was also that GP01 HGUC kit that they put out in a special bundle with an album/single/EP of theirs. Nice colour scheme, not so nice price.

I'm all for Linkin Park getting this attention. They've been kind of the opposite of "big in Japan" for a long time, instead being "big INTO Japan"; the Japanese market hasn't really relented to their ongoing attacks of wanton affection.

Might I add that the song of theirs used for the OP for Gundam Vs. Gundam Extreme Vs. works fantastically? Really makes you excited for the game (Even though it's not going to be anything but arcade only for the next year or so).

Not a big fan of theirs, but it's nice to see someone who actually cares about the country getting the attention, rather than someone who cares about the market.
