New images remind us why we wanted to forget about Revoltech Kenshin photo

After the initial images came out, I firmly placed any knowledge of Kenshin Himura's Revoltech representation into the far, dark recesses of my mind. Unfortunately, I came across some more photos of the finished product today and had the misfortune of all those memories flowing back. Some designs just do not lend themselves well to the Revoltech style and the two variations of the manslayer are just horrid.

I will say something nice though and say that his reverse blade sword is done pretty nicely and the effect part for it is a decent touch. Everything else though is complete garbage. The paint job on the hair is pretty horrid and the bottom portion of his top is just painted on his pants. The hair looks particularly horrid as well, as the two-tones just do not blend well at all together. The images speak for themselves when you look at how awkward the joints look with the outfit. It's just not something that could be easily blended together to look right, sadly.

Both versions of Himura, the red-clothe Kenshin and blue Battousai will be released in the next couple of days for 2,980 yen each. I'm just honestly disappointed with Kaiyodo's effort on this. The series deserves better than this. At least we got that with the PVC releases earlier this year. Mock this release and go buy the PVC instead.

MOAR Revoltech:

Legacy Comments

Have him coming home soon, can't wait
I AM DISAPPOINT.
That is one of the most awkward looking jointed figures of any kind I've ever seen. Hopefully they at least do their job with holding poses. :x
This doesn't look quite as bad as the original promo shots. The main concern is the fact that he is going to be horrendously difficult to pose. The Trigun revoltechs were pretty troublesome, but this looks like a whole different beast (THOSE LEGS. WHAT.)
If I see him in the bargain bin for 500 yen I might get him just to smash him against a brick or something.
These figures are horrible XD they're so square-shaped and bulky, looks like two gundams. And in the middle of all the square-sculpted clothes, these HUGE BALLS of the articulations pop out of nowhere. Disgusting.
Kenshin if he was remade into a mecha anime.

Personally I'm not impressed. The only articulated figures I like are figmas (and even then not all the time)
Honestly I think it's mostly just the blocky nature of the sculpt that's killing this (the robs in particular are pretty jarring to the eyes), otherwise, the poses actually look pretty good.
Holy shit these are terrible :I
Which is saying something, considering that they're still a MASSIVE improvement over the previous shots of him. I don't understand who thought this was a good idea.
I don't know guys, this is exactly how I picture Kenshin would be like in Maya 3D.
I wouldn't mind the blockiness if the figure were scaled down to half the regular Revoltech size or so. It'd actually be kinda cute. Or at least tolerable, anyway.
I'm not sure why, but... I kinda like their weird, blocky design somehow. Maybe because it makes them look like polygon-figures from an early N64-game.
I don't mind the revolver joints on their elbows that much, but the joints on the legs are just hideous. Especially the hip area looks kind of awkward.
I do like Battousai though. If I can get him some far day for a tolerable price (which means, less than 15€), I might get him.
I would never buy it (don't like jointed figures) but I think he looks kinda cool. The style is different, sure, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
kenshin.. what have they done to you? :(
