New Gundam series announced, new kits displayed

New Gundam series announced, new kits displayed photo

The initial response to the newest Gundam series, Gundam AGE, hasn't been that kind. Then again, we're talking about one of the most fickle fanbases making their reactions of a two-page spread. Regardless, there's only one real reason why new series are being made, and that's to make Bandai rich through the production of new model kits.

The initial three models are of the titular Gundam AGE. As you see in the picture above, there are three units, all of the Gundam AGE-1. The center suit is the original suit with its two forms, Sparrow to the left and Titus to the right. These are the first pics of the series and their Gunpla, and based off that, it should make some good kits for next year.

More information on the series as well as the Gunpla is going to be announced at this year's Tokyo Toy Show, which begins next week on June 16th. For now, take a look at the magazine scans and leave your comments below.

Kinda iffy on the design not the best but certainly not the worst.
Very EVA-ish face.
Also, after seeing a 2page spread I can absolutely guarantee I will hate this new series.

=p
Hey, it looks like its missing its GN core.
i'm always down for a new gundam anime. i hope its not super emo though like gundam 00. i liked the series but it was sooo emo
Very EVA-ish face.

Yeah, when I saw that and read about how these kids are fighting aliens I started thinking "Gundam Ev-AGE-elion" would be a more appropriate title. It's hard to do a series with kid pilots and have it appeal to multiple ages without being backed by nostalgia.
Few places say this is a co-production with Level-5 studios, Guesses are this will be like a true Gunpla Builders show but designed to pump out many licensed products.

Seems June 16 is a very important day Level-5....
Gundams look cool XD though 00 got me might cynical around the time of the movie.

Though kids vs aliens? Looks liek we're dropping all that "war is bad" crap and going for shooting aliens :S It's why I hated the 00 movie so much. That and space flowers.
Oh, good. It's been much too long since we last had ten-year olds piloting Mobile Suits. I'm waiting to see more, obviously, but so far it's nothing amazing.
Bleh.

Mecha designs are boring and seem like rehashes, and the character design I find ugly. The plot isn't helping either. Probably the first time I'll skip a series.
Diggin the design of the third (red) suit, others look a little too "inspired" by previous designs. Also would like to see some model kits around those alien mechas.

I'm probably not the target demographic for the anime though. Will watch before judging.. too much.
Oh yeah, drink up that h8terade

Always happy for new Gundam series.
