New Busou Shinki figures are all kinds of awesome!! photo

Being a collector who is a big fan of mecha and bishoujo figures, you would think that the mecha musume Busou Shinki figures would be high on my list of "awesome things which I must have." Sadly, that isn't actually true. While I do have some busou shinki figures in my collection, I have found the series as a whole to be a very mixed bag. Some are great and some are forgettable. But these images of the next couple of figures are very much in the great selection!!

Konami have decided to combine their Busou Shinki line with Gradius for their next release and they look SWEET! The main fighter mode is clearly based of the classic vic viper, while the combined form of the figure and jet is very reminiscent of the Legioss and tread mecha combo from Genesis Climber Mospeda (or the third part of the robotech saga, if you swing that way). Or you could also say that it looks rather like the gundam double X and G-Defender combo as well. All I know is they look very cool and I want them both!!

No release date has been set for these two yet, but as soon as they become available, you can bet that I'll be there with my pre-order request! Even if I have to use a proxy to get them! We don't often cover Busou Shinki releases. Is it something which you readers would like to see more of?

MOAR Mecha Musume:

Legacy Comments

The big turn-off for me has always been the exposed METAL pin joints on this series. Plus the general physiques on the sculpts remind me of some of Jazwares' horrendous older lines. Definitely neat concept figures, though. Just a shame that they can't polish them a little.
Very tempted. I managed to get the Mine Yoshizaki designed MMS figure a while back (drawing a blank on their names. The boxes are somewhere in my storeroom.) and these would look great with them.

Part of me would like to see more reports, but the pricing often makes these a rare purchase. XD
