My Melody to make the contract with Kyubey this July

Yes, you read that right. Sanrio's adorable character My Melody (and Kuromi, too) will become a magical girl in the new merchandise line, "My Melody x Puella Magi Madoka Magica". This is not the first time a Sanrio character cross-overed into an anime universe. Hello Kitty has been known to visit the world of One Piece as well as the video game franchise, Monster Hunter. As for this series, plushes, cell phone charms, and more will feature My Melody as Madoka and Kuromi as Homura. The crossover works eerily well, judging by the art. If you are wondering about the other Puella Magi, they won't be considered unless the initial collaboration goes well. But, given the popularity of the anime series, I doubt that will be a problem.

Okay, so now the bad news: these items will only be released in Japan, first through the three Animega stores then onto other unnamed ones. Now, we may get lucky and see these on AmiAmi, Otacute, or the other usual stores but we won't know until mid-July when the items are released. Item prices range from ¥420 (for a memo pad) to ¥2415 (for the plushes).

What do you all think of this cross-over? Would you be interested in any of these items?
