Monthly DO WANT: June Edition

Summer's here, and while everyone else is relaxing on the beach or firing up the grill for a barbecue, we're inside drooling over the toys we wish we had. And hey, at least we won't get caught out in the middle of a sudden downpour.

June had quite a few figures to pick from. It seems like many of the figure companies are now starting to ramp up for the fall and winter shopping seasons, which means a lot of announcements, even in this bad global economy. There have also been a few pretty amazing deals on prices, including one that was just too good for a Tomopop editor to pass up. Which one of us was it and what was the figure they desired so much? Well, you'll just have to read on to find out.

Colette Bennett wants the Summer Wonder Hobby exclusive Figma Miku

Let's see, this month's do want would have to be ... the Summer Wonder Hobby exclusive Figma Miku with her di:stage setup. Thanks to awesome proxy service Tokyo Hunter I am getting one, and I am really delighted! I never did buy the original Figma of her, so this will come as a treat. :)

Brian Szabelski and Bryan Coffee want Tokimeki's Rumiko Takahashi Mini Figure Collection

Brian: After taking a look at everything that's come out this month, I have to go with the Rumiko Takahashi mini-figures. InuYasha was responsible for actually bringing me back into the anime and manga fold, and it also re-introduced me to Rumiko Takahashi's work, including three of my favorite series of all time: Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, and the incredible Maison Ikkoku. These are going to look great alongside my Indiana Jones and Final Fantasy mini-figures.

Bryan: I hate InuYasha with a passion, but my strawberry jam has always been Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku. I think that Lum was one of my first anime crushes, there was definitely some electricity between me and her, I could feel it. So that rekindled love, crossed with my new found joy in all things mini and figures mean this is a must for me.

Also, Colette, you HAVE to see Maison Ikkoku.

Brian: I agree with you, Bryan. Colette, you must get into Maison Ikkoku. And they really need to make more Maison Ikkoku figures besides the gashapon set and the 1/4 scale Kyoko I've only seen once.

Tim Sheehy wants Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI Elvaan and Chocobo Cold Cast Statue

Not sure if this would qualify, but I stumbled upon this cold cast of a Chocobo & Elvaan from FFXI. I haven't been able to find a good photo online, and since only 3000 were made, they're going for like $600-$800 right now.

Rio McCarthy wants Square Enix's Final Fantasy VI Opera Scene Celes

I think I'm going to have to copy Tim, except I definitely want this Final Fantasy VI Opera Scene Celes ;-; Just looking at it makes me so incredibly happy, and I will now have to try and hunt this down if it's the last thing I do. That's one of my absolute favorite parts in the game, so it must be mine!

Brad Rice wants Hobby Japan's Queen's Blade Yuit & Vante Limited Edition

The figure is fun, cute, and probably illegal in the lower 48 states, so there's no reason why I shouldn't want this!
