Phat Company - 1/8 Scale

Somehow, despite all odds, the Atelier series seems to be one of the few JRPG franchises that just refuses to die. Being a fan with such tastes rather than seeing how many people in terrorist masks I can shoot in an hour, I'm certainly not complaining. It's not hard to see why though, as despite the odd alchemy-centric gameplay, the series tends to be absolutely gorgeous, certainly near the pinnacle of anime-styled gaming.

Phat Company's been providing us with Atelier figures for awhile now, and they've always captured the whimsical nature of the series to a tee. Thankfully that holds true with their gorgeous upcoming Meruru, heroine of the similarly named game.

The art style is unmistakable, and the brilliant coloring is unlike any you'll find in almost any other franchise around. I may get hung for saying so, but the inner gradient design of her mantle reminds me of MLP's Princess Cadance, one of my favorite characters. I'm also a fan of the delightful patterns around the cuffs of her sleeves! She may be tiny, but she's pretty irresistible, so be ready to cough up ¥7,429 when she arrives in May.
