Of all the things from Japan I love, none is perhaps less well-known outside of Japan than Mister Donut's Pon de Lion and His Sweet Friends, consisting of cute little animals who are also part-donut. Routinely, Mister Donut (or MisDo, as its Japanese nickname apparently is) gives away figures based on Pon de Lion and His Sweet Friends to loyal customers via their points system, but this time, they've turned things up another notch by partnering with the makers of the classic Kewpie dolls, bringing us one of the cutest little commercials I have ever seen. Ever.
The promotion itself features two dolls, one dressed as Pon de Lion and the other as French Wooler, Pon de Lion's adorable little half-sheep, half-donut friend. There are also keychain versions of both figures that will be available. The whole promotion starts tomorrow, November 25th, over in Japan ... but since they're more than 12 hours ahead, it technically starts today. Hit the jump for the commercial, but be warned: it's lethally cute, and Tomopop takes no responsibility for any serious injuries suffered as part of the viewing experience.
