Diamond Select Toys will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Minimates line at NYCC this year with exhibits, a panel, signings, and lots of freebies but no cake (seriously, where's the cake?). Among the freebies you could receive include a special "10th Anniversary" Minimate (pictured) if you get to DST's booth (#2167) early enough in the day.

DST will be hosting an exhibit (in room 1B02 of the Jacob Javits Center) which is billed as showcasing Minimates, artwork, and animation from throughout the line's 10-year run. The exhibit will be open all four days of NYCC and visitors may receive a promo Minimate from the company's archives (which I assume to mean leftover promos from previous conventions). Although multiple Minimates might be given away, it's still just one per person for the weekend (so bring along a fake mustache and/or beard if you want a second one).

A Minimates panel will take place 10:45 a.m. Sunday in room 1A06. The panel seems to focus on current and upcoming events (rather than a look at the line's history) with the usual question/answer segment at the end. Minimate designers Barry Bradfield and Uriel Caton (pictured; also note the old Toybiz Onslaught next to him) will be attendance, as well Product Manager Robert Yee and Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat. Apparently any attendee with a children's badge will get a free Battle Beast (meaning you may want borrow a kid's badge before heading in there) and the event will be followed by a Universal Monsters poster signing.

And last but certainly not least, DST will be giving away an allotment of "10th Anniversary" Minimates (pictured) at their booth (#2167). This giveaway will start at 10 a.m., Friday through Sunday, and will last until the day's allotment has been given away.
