For release June 22, the same day as the movie Brave opens, Merida will be hitting Disney Stores (including the online store) in North America and Europe as a beautiful limited edition doll. A total of 7,000 dolls will be made available, and she'll sell for US$99.50 (UK £60, Europe 70€).

She looks beautiful, and considering how difficult all of the girls in the Princess Designer Doll Collection (Rio wrote up a Show and Tell on these a while back) were to get, I'm sure it'll be an all-out brawl for this new one. I personally love that she comes with weapons and everything. She's also rather large at 17" tall and wearing a nicely detailed outfit.

To be clear, this is not an addition to the Disney Princess Designer Doll Collection, but a separate release of the same quality. I don't think Merida has even been officially inducted as a Disney Princess (yet). The last to join their ranks was Rapunzel, a little while before her Royal Wedding celebration at the Disney Parks.
