MegaHouse's Kintoki of Gintama works his charm

Two weeks after animate lists this impostor, Kintoki becomes available at the usual retailers.

Oh ho, you scamps at animate. Posting a product nearly two weeks in advance of MegaHouse making it official for pre-order. I can only assume you were charmed by Kin-chan just like the many others in the recent art of the Gintama anime. Nevertheless, those who have been wanting to pre-order this upstart can now do so from the usual retailers.

As a refresher, the 1/8-scale G.E.M. Series Kintoki is pretty much the Gintoki mold (blog review) with a different head and alternate colors. It's like if you are playing a fighting game and choose an alt color! The silver spoon is recolored to be gold to go with the golden boy. And really, that's it. Really silly just as much as the character himself. He's retailing now for ¥7,600 and will be available in April, 2013.

So now that you don't have to go through the trouble of animate, are you giving it some serious though about pre-ordering Kintoki to maybe go with your Gin-san?
