McFarlane Toys makes The Walking Dead into tangible items
McFarlane Toys, that wacky place where Spawn and Halo toys come from, is introducing two new lines of action figures this fall based on one of the greatest properties ever, The Walking Dead. Zombies are totally played out these days, but The Walking Dead acts as the one major exception to that notion. Both the comic book series by Robert Kirkman and the live-action TV drama on AMC are worth their weight in corpses, so when I hear that 6" action figures will be created for both properties at the same time, I'm overjoyed.
The plan is to have one series based off Kirkman's comic series and one based off AMC's TV show. The comic line will feature four figures, Officer Rick Grimes, Michonne, a Zombie Lurker, and a Zombie Roamer, whereas the TV property line will have Deputy Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, a Zombie Walker, and a Zombie Biter. The comic series toys release in September and the TV series toys release in November for a suggested retail price of US14.99.
I wish I had more images to show off, but all we have thus far is that one shot up there of the Zombie Roamer (I assume that's what I'm seeing, don't quote me on it). If it has to stand as an implication of what we'll soon see, than I'm more than sold. Plus, Monthly Megapixel can only benefit from action figures of Rick and Michonne at my disposal. Who else is jazzed about these?
