Max Factory's Mio looks rather shameful while putting all other Mio figures to shame photo

Max Factory, Max Factory, Max Factory... Man, you just waited for everyone else to show their hands and then BAM, in one fell swoop managed to out-cute and out-awesome all of them. There're quite a few figures of Mio from K-On! already, and furthermore, a few of similar expression, one from FREEing and one from Alter, and somehow, Max Factory just knew exactly what to do here.

While it seemed like other companies were just cashing in on the Mio craze and calling it a day (*cough*Alter*cough*) Max Factory has really taken out all the stops on this one. The amazing ruffles in her skirt that's fwooshing upward, her pouting face that out-adorbz all others, the way she's holding onto her bass for dear life, the cord spun around her legs so perfectly, and her flawless hair, which is even more detailed than Alter's rendition, are all executed to perfection. If you want to order this rendition of Mio, she's 1/7th scale and is set to be released in January and is up at Hobby Search for 6,314 yen and AmiAmi for 5,930 yen. While I may have ordered the school uniform Alter renditions, for the festival one I have to go with Max Factory and I can't wait for her to be released in January.

This has to be the best Mio I seen so far. Her expression makes it seem as if she just have gotten up after tripping on the school concert stage in the 1st season, funny yet disheartening. Looks like this is going to be my third Mio PVC, next to Alter's and Movic versions.
I still love Alter's version of the school uniform, but this hands-down wins the bid for the best cultural festival Mio. Although, to be honest, I've always been a bit dissatisfied with the expressions for her and even here, it kind of isn't 100% spot on to me. But it's way better than Alter's version, which was my pick before this. I might... have to get it, if my wallet will allow it to happen.
Dear Max Factory, this is why you're my favorite. You make me want figures of characters I don't even like.
I think this Mio is overrated. The only reason people like her is because she's beyond MOE. I actually think her pose is completely unrealistic. No musician will hold their bass guitar like that. I guess its all fine and dandy because Mio is shy. But I wouldn't call her the best looking Mio figure. I actually like Alter's School Festival one more.
She plays lefty bass?
I've stayed away from K-On partly just due to all the constant moe hoopla surrounding it. That being said, this figure is terribly adorable, and I may have to get it anyways.
Yeah, this is my fave Mio ever. I kind of want it just because its well done, despite the face I steer clear of K-ON!
I hope Max factory will fix the problem of a missing tuner on her guitar
Very cute!
Interesting that she's playing leftie here, and it is a nice figure but this is a pass. (Though I do love Max Factory the mostestestest)

If I get any K-ON! stuff it'll be a case of those petite nendos so I can have them all.

This sculpt's ruffles have NOTHING on Alter's Clalaclan. Just sayin'
Maybe it's just me, but I honestly dislike all the figures that have Mio holding her guitar. So far the only Mio I've picked up is the Maid one, because it didnt have a huge guitar obscuring the view. And while I like the School Festival outfit, I really wish there were more versions of the Don't Say Lazy outfit, other than the one KyoAni one thats not availible in the US without some kind of proxy.

Yep, Mio is a lefty! She's really cute about it, too. Whenever she sees someone else who plays lefty guitar or sees basses made for lefties, she gets super excited.
I loathe K-ON, but I would like this... a lot.

As a lefty guitarist I can confirm that I do this in real life. Before K-on aired I hyped myself up hardcore with it based on the fact she was a lefty. Us lefties have to take what we can get and make the best we can of it...

Also the pose kind of reminds me of the cover of the Boris album Dronevil (or at least the hugging of the guitar). Between that and the fact that I'm reminded she IS a lefty I'm trying real hard to remind myself I don't like K-on...
