MattyCollector's NYCC offerings aren't that exclusive

MattyCollector has announced that it will be selling two of its previous con exclusives at NYCC. Expect to see The Master of the Universe Classics Temple of Darkness Sorceress and Movie Masters Ghostbusters Dana Barrett as Zuul.

Temple of Darkness Sorceress is a "special traveling" release that was originally intended to be sold only at conventions. The figure is a white redeco of the Sorceress sold earlier this year which replicates her mini-comic look. The figure includes the Zoar staff as well as a power orb holder that, if memory serves, was not present in the standard version's release. She'll run you US$22 if you get her at NYCC. After NYCC, this Sorceress will only be available through MattyCollector's special sales.

The other figure, Dana as Zuul, began its life as part of the Ghostbusters-themed Club Ecto-1  (also to have been sold during Matty sales). When the ill-fated club was canceled due to a lack of interest, Dana as Zuul became a SDCC exclusive (with leftovers sold in Matty's after SDCC sale). Dana as Zuul comes with an alternate lower torso as well as a ledge/bench that she can recline on. As with the previous sales, she's available for US$25.

Given all the items seen at SDCC, it really feels like Mattel didn't even try this time around. Not to mention that there are plenty of older Matty exclusives they could have devoted another run to, such as DC Universe Classics Lobo (originally sold for around US$30 but generally runs well over US$100 on the secondary market). I'm really hoping that Mattel will make it up to fans with some major announcements at their panel.
