Mattel set to release SDCC exclusive Ghostbusters Egon and Slimer photo

With only a few weeks until San Diego Comic-Con, many outlets are preparing their exclusives with the intent of draining our wallets of our hard earned cash. In recent years, it's become more of a Hollywood event of sorts, and as such, we've been seeing more and more toys and collectibles related to pop-culture. There's no doubt that this toy fits that description.

Fresh on the heels of the recent Ghostbusters video game, Mattel has prepared a line of highly detailed and fully articulated figures that feature characters modeled with the likeness of each actor from the earlier movies. Growing up, this was probably one of the earliest movies that I enjoyed on a weekly basis--enough so that I'm sure my tape was damaged from being constantly rewound.

Referring to the line as Ghostbusters Classics, Mattel will be continuing the series with a new figure available each month, starting with the Egon and Slimer exclusive, to be sold at San Diego Comic-Con International. After that, the figures will be available at MattyCollector.com. I'm not sure I need another Bill Murray sitting on my shelf, but when they inevitably follow up this figure, I'll be in line to buy it.

THAT SLIMER IS AWESOME.
Those toys do look pretty sweet.

And it's spelled Mattel, not Mattle.

Right, I was totally on something when I wrote this. Someone else was kind enough to point that out to me. :)
