Marvel gets Shunya Yamashita to create an anime-inspired Rogue, finally East meets West in a super sexy way photo

Truth be told I was never a fan of DC's Ame-comi line of Japanese-inspired takes on classic DC characters. They just didn't look right to me, plus I was never a DC fan growing up anyway. Marvel has decided to throw their hat into the anime figure ring, and I must admit that they are doing a far better job of doing so.

Topless Robot, and our dear own community member bovine, have brought us word of an upcoming Rogue figure coming out in June of next year. The power-stealing femme fatale is designed by Tomopop favorite Shunya Yamashita, and I'm sure we can all agree that he did a spectacular job on it. Everything from her classic suit, to her expression, to even her exquisitely designed body have the distinct look of a Yamashita illustration, making this Rogue a very desirable figure.

Rogue will be available in June and will retail at roughly $60, however I did manage to find it on KidNemo for only $48. Those of you who are interested best get their preorders in quick, I doubt they'll be around for long.

MOAR Shunya Yamashita:

Legacy Comments

that's actually really amazing. I'm not a fan of the American comic style stuff, but this looks awesome (granted it looks well jap0nz)
I want to be redesigned by Shunya Yamashita. :)
@Colette

Your tits don't need to be any bigger. They're perfect just as they are! :)
Wow, this is a great piece of work :) I hope Shunya makes more!
I've never been a fan of Rogue, but this might just change my mind.
Fantastic collision of nerdospheres. I can't think of another Japanese person you'd want doing your American comic book statues. I mean a couple of the Ame-Comi statues were nice but doing those characters in a purely Japanese style produced fairly generic results. Yamashita--apparently the only person in Japan with a Heavy Metal subscription--doesn't have an anime style, he has his own, distinct cross-cultural style that is perfect for this kind of thing, as you can see above.

If he does a Psylocke figure the nerd reaction will be earthquake-like.
@Bryan: LOL
finally a sweet rogue figure its about time after all the tripe toybiz put out in the name of rogue.
Pretty hot. The Sideshow Rogue is probably hotter though.
I'd let her train my dick of energy.
Does it make me gay if I want Shunya to make a Gambit toy? Or a Solid Snake figure.

Don't tell my mum, she'd disown me if I were a gay :(
I just preordered mine. I'm kind of obsessed with this figure now. I found a hi-res version that is now my desktop wallpaper and cell phone wall paper. Yep. I'm hopeless.
