Kotobukiya's Yamamoto Isoroku from Sengoku Rance photo

Kotobukiya is at it again with yet another amazing figure of a character from the eroge PC game Sengoku Rance. Compared to the extremely pink Sill Plain, Yamamoto 56 (which is pronounced "Isoroku") looks more like a fighter, especially since she's carrying such a dark look. She's modeled after the commander-in-chief of the Combined Fleet in World War II.

I can't get over how amazing this figure looks. I'm in love with how they did her hair, as well as the pose she has. Yamamoto 56 is based on a 1/8 scale and will be released in September 2009. She's going for about 8,190 yen and can be pre-ordered over at HobbySearch. The more I see these figures, the more I want them and want to play the game.

MOAR Kotobukiya:

Legacy Comments

Wow, after the dissapointing Kotobukiya Uesagi Kenshin and Senhime (especially after Alter's Senhime) I told myself that I was not going to bother with Kotobukiya's Lance figures.

And now they come up with this.

I'll most probably wait and see on this one, but it definitively looks like a better effort. Something I noticed is that the sculptor of each Kotobukiya figure is a different person, so that may be related to the inconsistent results.
This is really lovely.
The Kotobukiya Uesugi Kenshin isn't that bad, though I do agree the face is a bit off. At least the pose is very dynamic.

This Yamamoto figure though... pics of the actual production figure are up on the www.1999.co.jp site. It looks to quite accurate to the prototype.

This kind of pose reminds me of Alter's Yoko Littner figure - strong pose and facial expression, clean details and dynamic elements like the swirling hair. My collection has been hurting for a really good archer figure, so this one is already pre-ordered!
