If any of you have heard me rant about anime at Japanator in recent months, you'd know I've been loathing pretty much everything from the last few seasons, including Bakemonotagari. I'm not sure if it the supernatural aspect of the show--the whole vampire thing is getting old--or the personas behind its cast of characters that led me to drop the series without giving it a second chance, but one thing was for certain, it wasn't the art.
Strictly speaking, the character designs were what convinced me to give the series a try in the first place, and Senjyogahara's in particular was fairly intriguing. A tsundere who packed a ton of dangerous school supplies under her skirt had almost sold me on the show alone. Of course, I naturally felt she'd make an awesome figure to have in hand, and between Good Smile and Kotobukiya, we've got a couple of nice ones to choose from.
In case you've been waiting to get your hands on either, I happy to inform you that Hobby Search has just started taking pre-orders for the Kotobukiya PVC, which I happen to think is the more attractive of the two, despite lacking the apparent deadly accessories you'd find with Good Smile's model. It'll set you back about $62 USD, but I'd say it's a decent price for a 1/8th scale. So, are any of you planning to pick this up, or are you still torn between one or the other? It wouldn't hurt to get both.
