Apparently it's been longer than I thought since we last discussed Kotobukiya's 1/6 scale Fine Art "Danger Room" Cycops statue (although he appeared in our coverage of Kotobukiya's SDCC booth), but I can assure you that he was never forgotten. Nor should he be, as this is a stunning rendition of the character in his iconic Jim Lee era outfit.

It would be somewhat pleasant to forget, though, as it pains me that I probably won't ever own something this awesome. Kotobukiya has done an exceptional job with the body sculpting which almost overshadows his rather epic destroyed Sentinel head base (It's a truth universally acknowledged that anything standing on a destroyed robot's head will automatically be ten times more awesome). The paintwork is nearly as solid as it features a good deal of color depth for shadowing and appears to photograph exceptionally well.

If I have any gripes about this statue, it would have to be in the mid-torso region. Scott's gut seems incredibly sunken in and his pants... belt... thingy appear to hiked up a little too far. However, those are hardly distractions given the overall quality.

Kotobukiya's Fine Arts Cyclops can be pre-ordered now and will run you somewhere around US$200. He's expected to release in January.
