Kotobukiya's Akiyama Mio from K-On! is drowning in the sea of Mio

There is no doubt that K-On!'s Akiyama Mio is popular. Alter, Aoshima and Wave all have had their hands on Mio with Kotobukiya/MOVIC's being the most recent. Are you still on the fence about their Original Costume Ver.? Perhaps Akiba Hobby's color sample gallery can help you decide.

It's a great looking figure getting sexy points for the boots, tie and button up shirt. The guitar is amazing in detail. Unfortunately, the face and hair have bothered me and still bother me today. I know Mio is suppose to be moe but I think the sculptor, Shirahige Tsukuru, gave her too round of a face. Tsukuru has done some gorgeous sculpts in the past so I'm not sure what went wrong here.

Kotobukiya's Mio will be out January with pre-orders are still open at Play-Asia. Alter's version of Mio (Play-Asia, RightStuf) will still own my heart but then again, I'll make out with anything by Alter.

Still need more Mio? Don't forget about Aoshima's mobip version (Play-Asia, RightStuf) and Wave's Beach Queens version (Play-Asia). So much Mio! Hey. What happened to UpLark's version?
