Kotobukiya puts another morally ambiguous cat up for pre-order with the Marvel Bishoujo Black Cat photo

After finally getting to see the sculpted version of Catwoman yesterday I wasn't quite sure which would be the next Bishoujo statue we would see come from the line and I must say, I think they might have a little theme going with orders this month as Black Cat just popped up for pre-order over at ami-ami.

I have to say I'm really impressed with it and it just works a lot better for me than the Catwoman did. Everything about it just works, from the diamond in the hand to the skyscraper portion of the base, it just screams Felicia Hardy. I also have to mention the face is just adorable and works fantastically and keeps the figure classy.

I know I've already popped down my pre-order at ami-ami for 4950 Yen and you should really join me in that act. I gotta say I really like that price, enough that I'm actually getting it through them rather than waiting for it to come to US comic shops 2 months later which is my usual pattern. Now if you don't mind I'm off to re-read the issues of Jen Van Meter's current and awesome Black Cat miniseries which is fantastic.

I have to say, for me, between the Marvel/DC Bishoujo figures we've seen (and the Ame-Comi stuff while we're at it) this is the first one that I think has truly nailed the "anime look". The face, the hair, the proportions, the colors, it all feels like something that a Japanese character designer came up with, not an American made character trying be interpreted into another art form. That's a really nice figure right there, I would totally watch an anime with Felicia here as the main character.
Except for Black Widow and Scarlet Witch - all the statues in the Marvel Bishoujo series have hit home and are either standing in my room, preordered, or they are on their way from the dealers. Even bought the white suited Phoenix version. The DC line though, not so much - feels like it's lacking something, and I can't put my finger on what it is... But for now, I'm staying away from it.
WANT SO HARD
Thefirst thing that came to mind when i saw this the other day was, the face looks way to young.

Maybe it is cause' i have not read any spider man comics in ages, but i don't remember her ever being as young as her face makes her look. While this might be a bit of a nit pick, i think the other Marvel Bishoujo have been pretty accurate when it comes to reflecting the age of the characters.

I looked at the figure and was like "niiice" then I saw the face and I though, "a little young looking..." I also feel it needs something to tie it together, a lot of empty space.
LOL! It seems the whole Koto method isn't so much to do an anime interpretation of these characters as it is to dial back their ages by like 15 or 20 years. Black Cat is possibly the most egregious example, she looks like she's in her mid-teens. If I was really a fan of the character, I'd possibly be a little annoyed but I think it's probably the cutest looking KB to date.

Not as fond of how they incorporate the base, which also looks like the figure is waiting to fall over.
It is is a definite get or me at some point, as I do love the Black Cat. The new mini has been pretty good, I'd love to see the Black Cat get a nice on-going series.
She really looks gorgeous. But I'm with Scarecroodle that her base is a bit lacking. Cat Woman's base was just simply astounding, while this one just so simple... And her lack of balance annoys me.

Unfortunatelly, I'm not a comic fans, so I know nothing of the character ç_ç
Damn, I really dig this. I've never really been that into Spidey's pantheon of characters, but Black Cat has always caught my attention.
I do appreciate her sensible flat boots compared to Selina's chunky ones. Great movement on this piece.
I wish they actually added the little Spidey doll that was shown in the art work. Would have brough it together for me.

Either way I'm still getting this one big time.
