Kaiyodo offers up four new(-ish) Revoltech figuresIf there's a figure I really, really like and a decent repaint is made of it, I don't mind double dipping. Repaints are a practical way for a company to get multiple uses out of a single mold and helps to fund the building of new molds so I can't really find it in myself to be angry at companies for doing it. Heck, a lot of my favorite toys growing up like G.I.Joes, Transformers, and He-Man were often just a series of repaints with new parts. It's a part of collecting that's never going away no matter how much people complain. And to prove it, here's Kaiyodo with four new Revoltech figures, but only one isn't a repaint. First up is Revoltech Yamaguchi's newest Eva Unit-01 repaint: No.100EX EVA Unit 01 Eva Racing 2012/Eva RT Unit 01 Apple Shiden Series. As far as I can tell this is the second repaint for No.100, the first being an entirely translucent purple version sold with Revoltech Chronicle 2. So what sets this one apart from the original? Not a whole lot. The only real difference between the two is that this one comes with logos down the left side of all the sponsors for the actual Eva Racing RT car. That's pretty much it, it still comes with all of the accessories from the original release such as the light up 4th Angel base and various interchangeable parts. Even though it's an EX figure it'll be available pretty much everywhere Revoltechs are sold for ¥3,315 in November. [ Pre-order No.100EX Eva Unit-01 at HobbyLink Japan | Otacute | Hobby Search | AmiAmi | CD Japan | J-List | Big Bad Toy Store ] Next up is a return to Monster Hunter with No.121EX Silver Rathalos! What's new about this version? Eh, not much. It's really just a silver Rathalos and comes with all of the same parts as the previous versions. That's not to say it doesn't look really nice in these colors, just don't expect something amazing. However, one thing to consider is that the Red Rathalos gave way to a Red Hunter and the Blue Rathalos gave way to a Blue Hunter, so chances are pretty good that there's a Silver Hunter in our future. It'll be out in December for ¥3,980. It's a Revoltech Power Shop Distribution Limited release so you won't find it at as many stores as most Revos. [ Pre-order No.121EX Silver Rathalos at HobbyLink Japan | Hobby Search | AmiAmi | ToysLogic | Big Bad Toy Store ] Finally comes the the biggest news, the introduction of Revoltech Yamaguchi No.126 Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX! This is one of those figures that people have been demanding for years and it's finally here. There have been a lot of Tachikoma figures over the years, but this one has a pretty nice set of features. Aside from the full use of Revolver joints in the limbs allowing for some very expressive posing, it also has movable "eyes", extra claws, a claw extension, a special wheel and a pull back motor for some fast paced action, and a magnet pack so your Tachikoma can hang out on any metal surface. Oh, and a little bottle of oil, Tachikomas can't get enough of that stuff! There's also a Revoltech Power Shop Distribution Limited release in yellow with black bars, you can never have too many Tachikomas! Both will be out in December for ¥3,315.
